My uncle has this phone, says it's fantstic. Theme support, e-mail client, camera kicks booty, etc. It runs on KDDI's AU network (CDMA 1X).

Given that Hitachi and Sanyo have serious relationships with KDDI, and that Sprint has both of them on board exclusively, I'll bet this phone will be coming to Sprint. (The Sanyo 5500, 5400, 8100, and soon-to-be 8200 are all based on hardware for KDDI's AU network. )

If not Sprint, then Virgin Mobile, but that would absolutely suck. I highly doubt that Sprint would allow the first megapixel camera on their network to be 'taken' by an MVNO!

Hope they keep all the specs from the JDM version intact though! If so, it'll be the most ...

It's highly unlikely it'll go to Verizon.

Mainly because of the analog support. Verizon is trying to phase out analog altogether.

I don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell Alltell will get this phone. It's going to be Sprint or Verizon, and Plik makes a great point about Verizon getting rid of analog. Sure looks like Sprint. Anyway, Kyocera's been a decent Sprint supporter in the past... maybe they're coming back into the fold with this phone. At least I hope!

U.S. Cellular is currently evaluating this phone in their test labs.

what are you talking about Invader J..Alltel is a solid Kyocera supporter...they have like 4 Kyocera phones in their lineup currently. I just hope that the quality of this phone is better than the 5100.

I'm pretty sure it says this phone has brew and I am also pretty sure that Sprint uses Java. You need to read ppl! Obviously its not a Sprint phone or it would have Java

If you would have read the specs, it says that the browser is openwave....so verizon will not get it due to them using BREW. Plus, Sprint is a multimedia whore.....so they can make up costs on churn.....So I would have to predict that Sprint and Qwest will carry the phone. Since Qwest is using sprints network and becoming an VNP.

🙄 Nearly all Verizon phones have Openwave browsers.

Verizon will carry this phone, as will U.S. Cellular. Sprint will most likely not offer this phone.

I got to play with this joint last year too in Osaka. I loved the design, and the video and camera features were easy to use. I even thought the English translated menus were great (I had been using a 3 year old Sony Bluetooth A1305S and the english menus were horrid, and certain features like bluetooth headset use were ONLY in Japanese. I was there to learn Japanese, so I never used the English on it anyhow) All of the Japanese made Sprint phones are heavily borrowed from AU's designs. I can confirm this as an employee of Sprint. I think this may end up on SPCS's network somehow myself.
