Release in US

So, is this phone is going to be released in the US? If not is there a way to order this phone and others from different countries? Any help would be appreciated.

I spoke with a Nokia corporate customer service person Monday and asked her about this phone. I was told that the 9500 is going to be a world phone, and that it will NOT be launched here in the USA. However, she did confirm that if the phone is acquired abroad, and one installs the appropriate SIM card in it, that it will work in the US. (Duh...)
When I asked about a release date, she was unclear... but probably not until after the 24th said.
Where it can be acquired here in the states? MobileCityOnline.com , an outfit in NYC, is taking pre-orders for the 9500. The price on their website is $899. That's the only place I've seen it available.

Thats odd, I spoke to a person at nokia because my 7610 is currently being repaired and i was told it will be released in the US and although its expected release is 4th quarter 04 its most likely going to be pushed to 1st quarter 05. I was also informed that they will not know the release date until a week before. Some 9500s are being sold overseas but they are not fully functional they are the trials or beta versions.

The trick to getting one overseas is the obvious 850 problem. In my area, Cingular's on the 850 band, so I would need a true "b" version to work correctly. I'm thinking bout ditching my 6620 and either getting a 6230 and a dell pocketpc or going straight to the 9500. Not sure yet, though.
