Ok, I know everyone is doubting what I say about the 9900 so here it is. For the person doubting me that "claims" he works for VZW then you should know this.
I received e-mail from Info2Go which is a VZW newsletter type deal. Here is what it said:

Updated Corporate Equipment Pricing
Channels: Stores, B2B, Telesales, Care
Markets: All

The Kyocera 7135 has been discontinued. As of 10/14 we have approximately 500 units available. We expect to be out of this device by October 22nd. Please close any orders and let your existing base know that we will no longer be carrying this device. Do NOT offer to any new customers. This device has been removed from the pricing matrix.

The Audiovox 9900 has been discontinued and we expect to be out...

We both know that "showbiz" was just a "Net-Nothing", who wanted to be a "Net-Something"... and he sure doesn't work in the ivory towers of VZW...!!!

(At least now you don't have to "eat worms")... 😉

But you were worried about it.

Haven't seen this suspiciously convenient for you newsletter yet, so I am calling fake until I see it.

In the meantime...Considering how much info you have given about yourself, do you really think you will be around much longer considering that you post supposed Internal communications? Do you like your job?

You should eat worms, because if you did work at Verizon, you would know posting such things is a BIG no-no.

You're right, it is a big "no no". But if they don't know who is posting it then there is nothing I have to worry about it. As far as the e-mail goes, I got it from my manager who printed it out for our team to have.

Just as I thought...sorry that you had to go thru so much bashing Starter. But while we're on this subject...this phone isn't even on the shelves anymore here in Hawaii. I called in though before I went in and asked if they had any in stock, and the lady (guess she wasn't supposed to do this) said yes there were about 10 left and put one on hold for me. When I called a little later, another rep told me they weren't supposed to do that and that it wasn't on hold. But then I went in, I was lucky enough to get the phone as an already existing customer, because they're only giving this phone to first-time customers.

I'm glad you got the phone, I hope you like it. I loved the one I had. Like I said before, the only reason I returned it is because I use about 3000-4000 text messages a month and there were too many steps on the phone to make messages and to reply to them. But everything else about the phone is great. Definitely one of the better Audiovox phones.

I have verified with both Verizon and Audiovox that the phone has NOT been discontinued....

Can we just drop this bs about whether or not the 9900 is discontinued??? This is a 6100 forum, if you or anyone else like the 9900 so much, you need to get it and be done with it, or go to the 9900 forum and argue about it. Let's not waste anymore time and stay with what's important. THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE VX6100.
