How is the battery life on the 6100, for those of you who've had the phone for a few days? I was going to keep my 9900 but after a few days of usage, I'll have to go back to considering getting this phone...if the battery life proves to outdo the 9900, I'll definitely give it a try.

I'm waiting as well for the 6100. I've had the 9900 for a week and the battery life doesn't even approach what they claimed. I suspect that most of the phones are equally bad for batteries, but the 9900 claimed a huge standby time and it's false.
I'm generally unimpressed with the 9900. They seem very disorganized in designing the phones at Audiovox and Verizon: a phone will have a dumb software flaw, they'll fix it in a new phone, then repeat the error in the next phone. Example: I had the Audiovox 8900. It fixed what is (to me) a huge flaw in many phones call history feature: if you call someone 4 times and get voicemail, the phone lists the number 4 times. The 8900 fixed it, then the 9900 regressed. The 9900 software regressed on a num...

For those of you who've commented on the battery life being decent/good in your reviews...can you expand? Decent/good as in how long can you go without charging, in terms of days?

That is really sooooo subjective it should not be answered... It is so dependent on usage, features used, how close you are to a tower, and a hundred other variables...
From a practical standpoint any phone that will standby 3 days or more, or talk for anything over two hours between charges, should be fine for anyone...
There are car chargers, extra batteries, extended life batteries, spare charger for at work, etc...
One more thing... For the first month or so after a new phone comes out, most people complain about the battery life... the reason is simple, I refer to it as "NTBD" (New Toy Battery Depletion)... After you stop constantly playing with the phone, the battery life will be fine... 😉

In terms of light to moderate usage is what I was getting at. And by that I mean, making short 2-5 minutes phones calls about 10 times a day, maybe at the longest an hour or so and then maybe browsing Get It Now or whatever. I totally understand that if you're going to constantly use its features then, duh, the battery won't last long at all. But what I want to know is how well does it do when in standby. I'd like to know because I have to charge my 9900 every night for it to last all day the following day...

as arbitrary as it is, the last time i charged my phone was thursday night, it is sunday night now and i still have half batter left, i use the phone a normal amount so i would be surprised if anyone had to charge it every night just to get it through one day

Thanks! This is the kind of info I was looking for. I'll take a look at the 6100 when I next go to the VZW store...but I think it'll take a lot to win me over from my 9900.

i agree. it's very subjective. in my experience with my vx6100 , battery life sucked because it kept switching between digital to analog to no signal constantly with the phone just sitting on my desk. also, at times, it stays on analog when i make calls. it's weird, my moto v60i never got out of digital. returned my 6100 and stayed with my moto. i'm pretty happy with it.
