~~ vx6100 Field Test Mode and Programming Mode ~~
Then Security Code: [0][0][0][0][0][0]
You are now in the "Field Test/Service Menu" where you can force the Preferred Mode... Just select "Force Mode" press [OK] select a Mode and press [OK]
You should try setting "Cell Only" ... This will force the phone away from the 1900MHz (PCS) band and may take you to the extended network in your area (not roaming), and may give you a much better signal...
You can leave this settings area at any time with the [END] key...
This works on all currently available LG Phones

CAUTION... Playing with settings in this area could render your phone totally inoperable... ALWAYS write down what the original setting was before changing it...

TMBS,
Will this work with other tri-band phones? I have the 9900 and the choice is "Cellular Only."
Thanks!
Tom
I normally keep my 9900 in the "Cellular Only" mode... In the Milwaukee area this lets me use the US Cellular 800 MHz network, instead of the Verizon PCS (1900MHz) network...
As the "Extended Network" partner for Verizon in our area this costs me nothing and is the same as being on the regular network...
Except... when you are on the extended network you do not have access to "Extended Digital Features" (Internet, Picture Messaging, Get It Now, etc.)
