how do you even get one of these updates?
You take your phone into a Verizon store that has a Service Department... they will flash your phone with the latest firmware version...
Always call ahead to check that they actually have a newer version available... go to menu/setting/phone-info to see what version of the firmware is currently in your phone...

Both the 6100 and the 9900 have very good signal handling abilities... with the edge going to the 9900...
Both phone do a better in the 800MHz (CELL) band... then they do in the 1900MHz (PCS) band... which is to be expected...

I wonder what else this update fixes. I have had some reception issues. Hopefully, the update addresses this as well.
not only did it not fix my volume bug problem but it pasted verizon wireless all over the phone, how can i reverse this PLEASE!
Also *228 option #1 is only used to put the needed data in the phone to allow the phone to use the Verizon system, these settings are placed in phone "OTA" (Over The Air) so that they do not have to be entered manually...
*228 has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the phone's firmware version...!!!

It's not all over the phone, it's one line near the top.
Did you mean to type 11/17?
