OTA Capable/Analog Questions

Picked up a 6100 yesterday through NE2. I had hoped to wait for the promised firmware fix, but my V60 broke in two, so that was that. It really seems to be a nice phone. Audio is loud and clear, but I do have the audio bug. Seems to hold 5 bars at home, where the Motorola was 3-4. I'll take it for a ride to my usual haunts to see how it does this weekend.

Having to pay $50 and then get it back in a rebate seemed to be a pain, but it has one big advantage. I charged the $50 on my Amex, so I now have an additional year warranty through them, so I'm covered through the contract.

- I forced analog mode to try it out. I displayed the analog

I was sitting is a 5 bar digital area and had the analog issue. I'm not going to worry about it - its not a huge deal in the NYC area. We'll see what happens when the firmware update hits.

I also had read the same thing regarding Qualcomm. My prediction is that if this is true, VZW will make firmware available through Get It Now for a fee of, say, $5.99 month.

So far, I'm pretty pleased with the phone.
