LG VX-6100
Conversation with LG Tech Support
I was in lower Manhattan today and was actually getting a signal and able to make calls in a couple of subway stations, but understandably lost service when I went to lower levels. When I came out to the street, the phone would go from no service and then stay at analog. It would never go back to digital and I was unable to make calls in analog mode. I had to reboot the phone to get it to work again every time I came out of the subway.
I called LG tonight and went over the whole list of issues and explained what had happened today. The tech I got was very nice and seemed to know ...

Either Verizon is purposely lieing to us all or their staff does not know much about their products. Luckly my phone is just not that loud
on high. I get better reception than I ever did with my LG VX 4400.

I'm of the "form follows function" school, but a balance needs to be struck. That balance actually would have been the Motorola V810, but not for us Verizon customers. If they fix the 6100 software, it would be the perfect phone (for me, at least).

This is exactly what I decided to do also... went back to my trusty 6000. I personally didn't experience too many of the extreme RF fluctuations with the 6100, but I did find the volume bug intolerable.

I loved the 6100, but it was getting to be unworkable. As soon as the audio and RF issues are cleared up, I'll be first in line to buy a revised one.
Same here!
