Firmware Upgrade
I just received word from a VZW Rep that the Firmware upgrade has been released to the stores for upgrade. I called one in VA and they said they have it and to stop by anytime.

I just spoke to the Rockville MD store and they do not know anything about this upgrade. Has anyone had their phone upgraded?

Yes. Here in California,VZW have the upgrade. Force your reps to check their computers, that's what I had to do. 2 ladies told me they know nothing about. I told them yes, it's was released Dec. 27th (approx). Sure enough,m wella.
Plan to leave your phone, it takes about half hour for the update. And yes, it did fix the volume bug, and I don't have a list of fixes....don't care as long as volume's fixed.

Just had my update done in Mt. Laurel NJ. Took about 45 mins and the phone works great now.

Talked to a Verizon store in Central Ohio. The rep there said that the firmware upgrade is made available on a state by state basis and is not yet available in Ohio. He said that I would probably know (by monitoring this board) as quick as him as to when it will be available here. He said he was aware of the problem...I asked him if he tells new customers about the problem before he sells then a 6100, and of course he dodged the question. Very frustrating. He did say I could turn it in and get a different phone.

I got the same response from the Verizon store on Henderson Rd. in Cols., OH last week. I called today and they now say they have it. I'm going tomorrow to get it. Wish me luck ;-)

I just got mine upgraded in VA. I went to the VZW on Route 50 and 29 inyersection. I also called the one in DC on G Street which also had it. The Rep said once the stores get it, all of them should have it since it is a push to there PC's. I would contact another store and indicate that this is a software update for the LG Phone and VerizonWireless has indicated that it was pushed to all the stores. Good luck...

Last night I went to the Rockville store and after some fussing they found they had the firmware upgrade and did apply it. It took about an hour to get it back. Now I get to see if it actually makes a difference.
