PHONE BOOK PROBLEMS *HELP*

I just got a V3 Today, put my SIM card in from my Sony Ericsson T616, and all the Names appeared in the V3 phone book.

I then changed how the name looked because it put a (M) Mobile (H) Home depending on what i had it under. I also saved each number to the phone's memory.

The icon changed from the SIM logo to the phone memory logo. I decided since everything was perfect i would back the numbers up on the SIM.

I did this, and now all the SIM numbers appear back in the phone book along with the the numbers stored in the phones memory.

HOW CAN I STOP THIS. I dont want to see the SIM logo and SIM numbers. Just the ones in the phones memory, but still back up the numbers. PLEASE HELP

THanks

i was wondering the same thing..i dont think there is any way but to erase the sim entries individually so you are left with only the phone memory entries.. if you are going to buy a new phone at that point you should copy the phone memory entries onto the sim before putting it in your new phone..i bought an extra "unregistered" sim and keep it hidden away in a drawer and every time i add a new number to the phone memory i take out my "unregistered" sim, put that one in and copy the new phone number onto it... then i put back my "registered" sim in the phone and carry on..that way i only have the phonebook entries listed once..kind of a pain but i couldnt figure out any other way to have only one entry for each record..

All of the other recent Moto's I have had do exactly what you are talking about..you can't choose to view SIM memory or phone memory..if there are contacts on your SIM, they will show up..your solution is, like you said, somewhat of a pain, but it's the only viable solution that I am aware of..I guess I was fortunate enough that the guys down at my local store gave me 2 additional "dummy" SIM cards that I keep stowed safely away..I didn't have to buy them..I don't personally own the V3 (I have the Nokia 6620), but after reading all the positive reviews here, I am gradually leaning toward getting one..maybe sometime early next year, when the bugs (if there are any) have been worked out..I still would never part with my 6620 though..

Yes, an unfortunate situation, however depending on your computer, I do my transfers by BT, not the sim, just another option as well.
