Magnesium or Plastic?

Okay, there have been a few discussions on this topic here in this forum and others that debate the materials used on the V3. Some think the lower part of the unit is plastic but other sources quote it to be magnesium. In fact, the editor of Phoce Scoop himself states it is magnesium (see the Moto Summer feature article at https://www.phonescoop.com/articles/moto_2004 _07/index.php?p=v3) because of the moldable properties of magnesium.

I looked at one in the Cingular store and it felt like metal to me-- much like that of a higher-end digital camera body that first looks like plastic but is metal and not metal coated plastic. But where are the GSM and Bluetooth antennas? Certainly not underneath metal.

So, did Motorola have to switch to ...
