We've got firewalls up at work so I can't click on the link to see. I can't think of any authorized agent dumb enough to sell the V3 for $300 on a two year... is there a $200 mail in rebate or something? The phone still costs agents $542 to buy (I know, I am one), and will stay at that price through December 26th. After that point, it may or may not change. Now... if a customer signed up with NEW service (not an upgrade) and agreed two a two year extension with at least six months on a price plan of $79.99 or higher I could sell it for $300 and still make $22.99... which isn't worth it. Mail in rebates bump up profit ratio, but as I said I can't see the link to see the price before rebate.

What company is it and what are all the smal...

the agent is wirefly, they have a 100 dollar customer loyalty rebate (which you get after;
"For a limited time, receive a $100 Customer Loyalty Rebate when ordering service on-line from this website, purchasing the selected phone and activating a new line of service from the currently selected wireless provider. Offer not valid for pre-paid service. Credit approval and one or two year contract required. Early termination fee may apply. To qualify and redeem the rebate, and to avoid an equipment discount charge back of $150, complete and sign the rebate form, provide copies of your sales receipt, guide to wireless service, a copy of the UPC from the product packaging, and a copy of a wireless bill for this account dated between 150 days and...

It's at Inphonic's Wirefly site. It's $449 - $150 in rebates with any new Cingular plan, but that link only came up through a link I found on www.point.com. Type in Wirefly and the price is higher.

The link says $339 but when you click on it the price shows up as $299 (after rebate). Maybe it's a price mistake.

Or, Inphonic is the biggest...Maybe they get a better deal than you. Or maybe they figure they'll make it up by selling accessories and other stuff, or maybe it's just irrational christmastime marketing, or....?

Agent pricing is always the same, and I know wirefly isn't the biggest authorized agent because that title should fall on or near my company. We're the biggest market, of the biggest region, of the biggest company.... or so i've been told.

Anyway, that mail in rebate sounds crazy. They want you to wait at least five months (150-210 days) before you CAN even mail in the rebate and then of course another month before you get it. That right there is the six month vesting period to insure you don't change your plan and stick the company with a chargeback.

I can see from Tara's post that it says "activating a new line of service". So if they're selling it for $349.99 (before this unheard of mail in rebate that Tara pointed out doesn't ...

If you're a Cigular agent I'd think you would know that Wirefly is part of Inphonic, which is an internet-only agent and is the #1 Company on the INC 500. They do the online activations for most of the online brands out there plus radio shack, circuit city, staples, compusa, officemax, amway, etc. etc. NASDAQ: INPC

If they're online only, that's why I've never heard of them. We're a cingular branded premiere authorized agent with only store locations. All I ever deal with is stores, not internet corporations. I bet not having store overhead is nice. 🙂

I can tell you for certain that the moto employee price is $300+.... so.... I find it hard to understand a pricepoint in the market below even $400 at this point.

More power to you if you can get it!

As far as a trusted name with a low price, I ordered mine from Amazon.com ($370 w/ rebate). The rebate claim form states that you need a 1-year (minimum) contract for the rebate and be a new customer. $370 w/ a 1-year contract seemed like a good deal to me.
