Motorola RAZR V3

Is it just me or have others noticed that the missed call notification on the external display only "displays" for a minute or two then is replaced by the time. In other words, you cannot tell just by looking at the external display if there are missed calls.

My other Moto phones all had the notification remain displayed until you opened the phone.

Is this something that can be set ? I cannot find such a setting .
