I'm a business customer, and ordered my 650 yesterday. I called today to check on the status of it, and there was silence on the other end of the phone. Then the excuse. There was a problem with the software and they are delaying the release in order to get it worked out. They couldn't give me a date, just that my rep would contact me as soon as the phone became available.

Funny, I just called and heard the same thing. In fact I called back 3 times just to make sure and everyone said the same thing. I even argued with the guy telling him that I know it's available because I've seen folks with it, but he won't give in. Man, am I pissed!!!

I'm upset too, but if some people already have them then that means theirs have faulty software. I would rather wait a little while longer and get one that works rather than get one now that just causes headaches.

I ordered it yesterday (11th) in the morning say 9am and I received it today (12th) say 9:30ish. Anyway the phone doesn't have any software issues. The internet is a drag (too slow). But other than that it's really an amazing phone with some amazing features. I love the fact that the phone says Verizon on it, I waited a long time for this bad boy. I'm gonna get the BT headset anybody know of a great headset for this product? I'm sorry to hear about you problems maybe some of the phones had software issues and they are now being resolved. You should be happy you are not getting a messed up phone

Okay, now I am really confused. I just spent an hour being bounced around all over the place in customer service and finally got to a guy that said yes it is available, but he suggested waiting because they have a list of a ton of bugs that they were trying to fix. One of the major bugs he said was a software problem with the sync feature.
I don't know, they say pioneers are the ones with the arrows in their backs. I am currently using the 600 and still love it but I am really psyched for the 650.
I think I will wait a while and keep an eye on the forum and see if anything pops up. Not to mention if I wait until it's in the stores, returning it will be a lot easier if there is a problem.

I ordered mine yesterday, and it's being shipped today. I called Verizon and they put me on hold forever while they checked with the Data department about software issues, and they said there are no known software issues. What's the deal???

Definitely let me know. Like I said in an earlier reply, the main issue that the rep said they were having was in the sync program. I am not sure if they ment hotsync or wireless sync, but pay close attention to that.

Look it's pretty simple, there were too many people waiting for the phone and so now they don't have enough to send to people. BACK ORDER, but they are not using that word, they are calling it "Software Issues". I got mine yesterday, a couple of other people on this site got it today or yesterday... My friend who ordered it at the same time (9am Wed.) I did got it. And I'm telling you they don't have any apparent issues. BTW... Does anybody know of a good BT Headset for this thing I really want one but don't know which one to buy!

Anyway, she didn't mention anything about the phone not being available which makes me wonder what's different between her and the 3 guys I spoke to yesterda...ugh!!!! Ah hell, I just went ahead and ordered it, but like alanwill, the weekend is going to screw me up and I won't get it until Monday.
You know it would be nice if the Customer Service reps were all on the same page. I just called and the entire call took all of five minutes, and she threw in a car charger for me since the connections on the 650 are different from the 600. Today = 5 minutes. Last night = 1 hour+.
Can't wait and keeping my fingers crossed that it's not like the 710 was. I went through four of those before I gave up on that phone.

My Verizon rep contacted me a few days ago and said the Treo 650 was available. She sent it overnight and I activated it this morning. Yes, I have a Verizon Treo 650. So far, it looks great. It is a little different then the 600. I am located in the HBG, PA Region. Good luck to all!

So far, I actually think the 600 had better reception. Not sure on the internet speed. I never use it because it has always been too slow. My 650 seems a little quirky. The touch screen is acting up and I am unable to send video clips thru mail. The 650 looks MUCH better then the 600... just not sure if it is a more reliable unit.
