Palm Treo 650 (CDMA)
samsung i730 vs treo 650
what truly will be the best phone
now the keeping the cost factor in mind with sammy..what will be the best phone.
now couple of question i have.
1.the advantages and disanvantages of either or or.
2. can u make treo 650 into wifi ?
Even as a 2 year Samsung i700 user, I cannot justify $600 for a phone without a camera. The battery issue is definitely a consideration as I've lost everything in that phone when the battery ran out. Despite backup and reload-ability of my Address book from synching with Outlook, you still have to re-install any added software. You also LOSE your Call History permanently unlike with the Treo 650. With the Samsung, it's too easy to accidentally press one of the side buttons and reactivate the screen when putting the device in your pocket after turning it off. This has resulted in unknown calls being made and people listening to my conversations without my knowledge. Another considera...

I'm looking at the same decision, Treo 650 vs. the i730.

So far, it appears Verizon is handling the i730 the same way they handled the i700 as they don't stock it in their stores. I had to order my i700 from the store then wait a day or 2 for it to show up FedEx. Even then, when I had a problem, NONE OF THE TECHS in any Verizon store could help. Always got the same answer, "You have to call the data dept, here's the toll free #".
Imagine, you buy a carrier's most expensive phone and you can't get help in their stores? F**K ME, BULLSH*T !!!!!! No doubt the i730 will be handled exactly the same way. Aside from all of the above nonsense, I'm on my 6th i700 in 2 years which makes me leary about trusting a Samsung PDA and Verizon (together) again.
These are j...

my question is that I am leaning fwd to the treo 650 more and more..
but i want to know from you is that.
since i have a wireless router at home.
is there any way i could use that with the treo 650 ?
Do a google search on "Treo 650+WiFi". There are solutions out there. However, I think before long PalmOne will offer a Treo driver for their SD WiFi card. And if they don't, I'll bet someone else will. The standard memory in the Treo might be a limiting factor, so a WiFi+Memory SD card may turn out to have to be the solution.
Believe me, I too think Verizon has nerve forcing a $45/month data plan rate on those who want to seriously browse the net from their phone.
How is it on the i730?
"Call Bob Thomspon Cell" and it does.
"Call 3-3-1-8-2-1-1" and it does.
NICE.
