this is what they told me, the phone is "expected" to release the end of May. To Rogers in Canada, and to T-Mobile and Cingular in the US. No estimated MSRP on the phone but the rep said to expect something around the V600 asking price when it first launched.
...
That's great news. I have been holding out for this phone. And I have been holding out for it through T-Mo. I'm just not confident in my skills of dealing with an unlocked phone. 😁

Check out my responce to the original poster.

I called up Motorola and they said that they have no info, on it, and that they don't even know which carriers will carry that phone. Also, they said that it will be launched during the 2nd half of the year.
I don't believe them. I think thats bull crap, they probably do know, and its right in front of their computer, but they are trained not to say, since it might be tentative.
...
Well the rep I spoke to did take some time to "check" on the phone's status and information.. how accurate or true it is, I cannot vouch for. I just hoped that she was telling me what she really knew and not blow smoke...

I am currently in Dubai, in the UAE (middle east) but i am from Texas. There is a really nice Moto service center here and they told me they will have this phone 2nd week in May.
it is expected to sell for the US equivalent of $300. whe i was here last november, the V3 was everywhere for $700 and had been on the market here for about 2 months. if the v635 is as nice as i hear i will get one. unlocked of course
...
Would you be able to get more than one for others on this board too? 😁
...
I would consider it, depends on circumstances. when get one in my hands i will let you know

Ok, here's what I think I am hearing. phattbam talked to a Moto support representative in Canada and got information saying the phone is expected in Canada by the end of May and potentially T-Mo and Cinigular USA. terryjohnson16 called Moto support here in the US and got the standard we don't know anything answer we have learned to expect in the US. So, we are still waiting for the answer, but I think we know that Rogers Canada will get the phone before a US carrier. That's funny stuff since Moto is a US manufacturer that seems to export their products to other countries before they make it to the US market. Ah, the pleasure of living in the "technically advanced" nation of the USA. 🙂
...
you can expect this phone out in May, it's the middle of quarter and they have to have a line that will boast sales for this quarter and they have to compete for the prize of "must have phone for the summer". they will probally release it in early May same as the v600 and price it the same.
...
Do you mean it will be released in the USA, or Canada?
...
usa, canada usually gets everything a month later most of the time, U.S. is the bigger market so they usually get first dibs.
...
If they released the V635 for Cingular, and I bought it eventhough I am a T-Mobile customer, how could I delete Cingular's settings and logo off of the phone, and use it as T-Mobile?
...
you'd be better off getting an unlocked phone from one websites that other people posted around here, or go on ebay get off there that is not cingular branded, it is way to much hassle making one carrier's phone work with another by removing their settings.
...
you can try seem editting,... check out howardforums(dot)com. they have a lot of information on that stuff. just run a quick search.

I can only take so much feathering!!!!
Always pushing the date, why?!?!?! I want that phone now!!, I can take this Nokia 6000 series anymore. TDMA is killing me. I am dropping calls like a seagull on beachgoers. 😡
The worst part is that I will loose all my AT&T priviledges, like company discount, extra minutes and unlimited night and weekends. "You shot my alligator skin bags!...man that's just...that's just mean man!"

Nokia 6000 series TDMA? 😳
What are you talking about?
...
Nokia 6160. 🤭
Hey it works, it had to be an ATT branded phone because damn cingular would not use their TDMA tower with their old TDMA phones. Only for existing customer that have not switched over to GSM. Bastards I tell you. Now they wont honor any ATT customers their benefits because they made so you have to get a GSM phone with them, branded and so, you are completely out of ATT anything. Just venting, just venting. 🤣
...
hey call cingular biz support and have them migrate your line then you keep all your discounts if you go into a store they can still do it unless you talk to a rep that doesn't know how and they'll just say no. call the biz support for cingular or att and they'll hook you up when this phone comes out. no worries you'll get to keep you discount
...
Thanks man, I will do that when the phone comes out.
...
After all is said and done, looks like phattbam got the straight scoop for phonescoop. The V635 was released yesterday (or early May instead of late May, but let's not be too choosy) in Canada through Rogers Wireless. So now, we will have to wait and see if the T-Mobile/Cingular USA release will be here in a week or two. Good call phattbam.
...
thanks.. I just report it like I hear it... Nothing was factual since it's from Moto customer support.. sometimes they know what they are saying sometimes they don't.. I do hope it does come out soon... I would get a better deal since I know people who work at Cingular.. If not there are other online sources to get this phone.. Currently using an E398.. awaiting if video recording can be an added feature..
