Sept 1st 2005 is the official release date it is now available via some markets. Some third party dealers are already selling it even though they technically aren't suppossed to.
The 6620 will be discontinued.

Thank you for the update. Before your announcement, I called my Rep and she told me the same-great news.
...
can your rep also tell some info about Rates??
How much for 2-yr contract??.. for 1 yr?
...
two year $300 and add $75 for a one year...
...
what will wirefly.com offer it at.. Any Guesses...???
...
beg all you want. forgot about the damn MEdia net bundle ****...plus, mobiletracker has been wrong in the past.
but $419.99 with a contract?...I would assume you ment with out. Ah well
...
Typically, whatever the 2 year contract price is, you would add $50 to that if you wanted a 1 year, or add $100 for full price. Having said that, the 6620 was $499.99 no commitment price when it first came out. I would guess this one will be more. The 7610 was $549.99 when it first came out. The question is - is this phone EVER coming out??
...
Soon. I'm trying to keep people as up-to-date as possible. Some people have been very appreciative, while others just keep telling us how much cingular sucks (which is oh so intelligent)
...
I am perfectly content with my 6620. This would have been the perfect phone if it had an FM radio. I use one at work alot. I have a headset made by Nokia that once I plug it into the pop port it becomes and FM tuner but if it was built in the phone like my old 6800 I could put it on speaker phone. I noticed you are from the southeast. Where at exactly? I am in Georgia.
...
I'm in georgia as well. Work for an agent in atlanta.
...
Oh cool. I am in Milledgeville. Don't laugh lol

I was told by a Sales Rep at a Cingular store in Atlanta that the phone will be out at the end of the month. I sure hope so because my current phone has a broken antenna (again) and I need to migrate over as soon as possible.

I've read in HoFo that Cingular is waiting for the rollout of PTT, since the 6682 will support that.
End of October, I think.
...
She said "right around $300". I didn't ask whether it was for a 2 or 1, assuming it's 2.

Any info on Cingular release dates and prices for these two phones? (Sorry for the off topic question.)
...
hate to bust ur bubble, but i don't think cingular will release either of these phones any time soon. they just discontinued the6230 (they were all freezing up) nokia rep told me the 6230i will never make it stateside, and i don't know when the last time a major US carrier subsidized a Nokia Communicator
...
cingular could just go back to the non ens version of the 6230... haven't heard a word about the 'i' version comming to us. We do have a size comparison handout with the 9300 on it, as well as the 6102, so who knows about the communicator. It did come from nokia and not cingular.
...
I spoke to an in store Cingular rep yesterday who said that they had a display up at one time for the 9300, but were told to take it down as Cingular had decided not to carry the phone. Hopefully this isn't the final answer, but everything I've heard or read so far leads me to believe that it's true.
