SIM vs memory card AND Where are Contacts stored??

Is there any compelling reason to store files or programs in one place versus another?

Also, Anyone know where the contacts are stored? Is there any way that I can store the contacts on the sim card in such a way as to make them available when using my cheapo Samsung 270? (Probably stored in different formats but had to ask)

I store my contact on the phone, with a backup subset on the SIM.

In general, I put all my applications on the memory card. That way you save your presious phone memory for actually running the programs.

Images, sounds, and videos... definately on the memory card!

Keep in mind that if you put an application on the memory card, it won't be available when the card is removed.

This is my habit based on my 3600 which had 5mb in the phone and 16mb on the card which was never removed. Since the 6682 has more in both and the card is easier to remove you may want to adjust to your habits.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of the phone needing SIM memory to run the applications. I know it must use ram to run the apps.

Is there an actual visible file that holds the contacts? Inside the Nokia PC Suite File Manager the contacts show up as a folder but you can't open or move it. Using FExplorer to look at the files on the MMC I can't find anything that looks like a contacts data file.

Also, PC Suite syncs with the phone contacts on the MMC only so I guess you must use the phone to copy contacts to the SIM?
