OS X Tethering / DUN

Has anyone successfully tethered their 6682 to OS X via bluetooth for DUN access via their laptop?

Here's how I did it.....

Get the Nokia GPRS modem scripts for OS X here:

http://www.taniwha.org.uk/files/NokiaGPRS2004-05.sit »

Throw them in the following directory:

/Library/Modem Scripts

When setting up your new Network connection (in System Preferences) with Bluetooth, select the Nokia 3G CID 1 as your modem script. Also when setting up your Bluetooth network connection, configure PPP with the following...

Account Name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
Telephone Number: wap.cingular

In the PPP Options, you may need to deselect "Send PPP echo packets" and/or "Use TCP header compression"...I personally have never needed to do this, but some people claim it helps.

Then you can use Internet Connect to dial in...

I did all this. My Internet Connect shaows me as connected and authenticated, but I can not actully get a response from the web. Any thoughts?

BTW on a 6682.

After you are connected and authenticated, check you Network Settings for your Bluetooth network connection...under TCP/IP are you using PPP and if so, are you getting assigned an IP address?

Yes .. but somehow magically working now ... maybe there was a network problem before ... thanks anyway .

Don't want to sound dumb, but can someone explain the os x tethering/dun thing to me?? What exactly is this?? Does this give the phone the capability to act as a modem?? I want to use my 6682 as a modem so that I can hook up my laptop to surf. Anyone know how I can do that?? I was able to do that with my 6600 fine via bluetooth.
