hey guys, pretty much made my mind up to get this (either w/out contract or when letstalk.com gets it again) but had a few questions i was wondering if you guys could help me with, as i haven't been able to find a phone in my local store to play with...

1) how is the sound quality - on the headset and the speaker?

2) can you listen to mp3s while browsing the web or doing other phone functions? do they pause when you get a call and restart afterwards?

3) has anyone used it with pop3 mail accounts and if so how well does it work?

4) lastly... what do your friends think of your 6682?!?!?

thanks guys!!!

about the camera....

is the 6X zoom real time, or can you only zoom after taking a picture? also, are self-portraits hard?

thanks again!

1) Sound quality is excellent. Both calls and MP3. Speaker is louder than the one on 6620.

2) haven't tried

3) I access my POP3 mailbox. Works well.

4) They think it's a sharp phone. Looks, performance, functionality.

one more) They camera is great. Zoom while taking a picture or during video recording. Also, it is a smooth zoom in and out. Not "stages". Self portrait ? Not really hard.

Do you use the native email client? Have you downloaded and tried profimail? Its wonderful and comes with a nice trial version.

I've been meaning to ask if you had yet tried out the profimail, and if so what did you think about it. It works great with gmail and aim mail also.

I think that profimail works really well especially for aol. I use the native email for comcast mail and then open the attachment in netfront to view the html. I can open up links that way, can't with profimail. Once I get my phone back from Nokia i probably will purchase profimail.

Pretty cool, so far.
Good timing... I shut down my eamil on my pc, I have it sent to download from my ISP every minute, and fired up profimail and someone from my MTB club (mountian bike) sent a 500+K email with a google map link. Couldn't get to the link, said must have java script enabled.
Then sent myself an email from my pc with a pic inserted. Shutdown email immediately on my pc and retrieved it on the phone. Pic in the email body as I sent it. Cool.

Hey, you're not a lonelycatgames sales rep are you *lol* pushing profimail. And no... I don't want to buy a 6620 *lol* Got one and will keep it as my backup phone. Hopefully to tide me over when I send my 6682 to Nokia for/when a firmware upgrade is available 😉

Now, to get to you and this post my friend lol...........I have not tried to send a pic in the body before (never thought of it I guess) I always send mine as attachments. I think you can do more. Operative word is "think" lol..........and I'm not a salesman for LCG, but on my 6620 it was without question the one program I couldn't live without. Netfront was a close 2nd, however on the 6682 I have come to use Opera ALOT more than NF. Now Profimail is still my fav program on my 6682. I have 2 Alltel accounts set up as well as one Gmail, and one Aim. I think you can set up 8 accounts. And should you get a link that you can't open, and that particular address is set up on the native client, then you can also recieve that email there, as long as...

hey, lcyhot.

how do you like your RAZR?

The RAZR is a good phone, with few bells and whistles. It's over priced at $200 for a 2 year contract. The V551 is half the price. If you return the 6682, which phone will you be using if you decide to wait and not get a new phone at this time?

Yeah, the Razr was great for me. I loved the large screen, great RF, longrange Bluetooth was nice(have to stay a little closer with the 6682).

The bigest thing I didn't like??

The way it handles calls and settings while connected to a BT heaset. You get a standard ring for every call regardless of tone assigned.

I really enjoy kowing who's calling without touching the phone or headset.

Gave the Razr to my 17yr old son. He loves it too. Great phone for $199 imho.

Moto does that (with the ringtones when you are connected with BT). Which earpiece did you use with the RAZR and are you using the same one with the 6682? I haven't tested distances yet, but I will soon. Where I live at (Central Georgia) the V551 had slightly better RF than the RAZR, but I think that varies in different parts of the country. That's why I thought for me, the $100 V551 was an overall better value, considering it has EDGE. I have 5 BT head sets. I need my butt kicked sometimes lol

I returned my 6682 today, to be exchanged by a black razr. 😉

i got a backup phone (NOKIA 3390) so i am using it till i receive the RAZR.

This phone is basic but still a nokia. great reception, increadibly loud earpiece speaker...

it reminds me old days.
how everthing was simpler back in those days...aahhh

At least get you a nice case for the RAZR. You should keep it well protected.

Yeah, I usually send photos as attachments. I just inserted one to see if it indeed showed up in the email body in Profimail. I do like to spice up my emails some though with insertings, graphics, gifs and what not.

I love the way Profimail scrolls the subject line. Also the sounds are cool. Still discovering things... So hopefully I will KNOW I can do more 🤣

You can set any sound you want. I have the ultimate. PM me and I will email it to you. Also, I know you can see the fonts and colors of what others send, but you can only send the basic.

Ah, I see, sounds.. it goes into it's built in explorer to chose.

You have THE ultimate, sounds ?
I have quite a collection of wavs on my desktop. One of these days... get some of the better ones to my phone. So much to do, play with, with electronics but alas... so little time 🙄 I'll take you up on your offer though. Perhaps I can return the favor.

I used some wild Outlook fonts and they did not display on the phone. Colors, yes. I would think Profimail has a limited font set. Not that important.
