i returned my 6682 for an exchange with another 6682. (letstalk.com)
but today i checked their web page and it is backordered with ETA of Oct 21.
I was curious, maybe cingular might be fixing the phones and maybe thats why it s gonna take a while to restock the phone.
i hope after such a long wait, the new phone wont have any problems,,

Here are my thoughts. This is a phone. This little device is asked to do so much by us, like take pics, videos, surf the web, wake us up, remind us of important things, communicate with the world in various ways and other things that I didn't mention. With the two bugs we all seem to be experiencing (call logs and SIM copying contacts), is there a better phone on the U.S. market available for our carrier, or any other carrier for that matter? I'm sure most of you will agree, this 6682 is the best of the best right now.
Now, I'm not trying to downplay the importance of the two bugs we are having. I'm sure they affect us all differently. But for me, they are way down on the priority list. Now if the battery was dying in one day, or it kept ...

It's kinda like a wife/gf/husband/bf that nags every once in awhile. You get used to it.
LOL
LOL ~ I agree, Icy
I was going to comment on your other post, I think this morning, but alas work got in the way. I hate when work gets in the way of my personal life đ˛ I do, when not too busy, do personal "things" at work. Like read and post to this board.
In reagrds to little issues with our PCs and other electroinic devices. They all pretty much develop some quirks over time that maybe require a "refresh" or some regular maintenace. Maybe for this phone it is removing the battery every so often for a short period... or whatever. I am not saying we should settle for an extemely faulty ...

Yes it's holding up. When my music finishes transferring to the phone, I will power it off and on and post here. It may be late, so you may have to read the result in the morning.
When I was 20, I thought I was 20. When I was 30, I wanted to be perfect. Now, as I approach 40, I realize there is no such thing as perfection. Yes the 6620 had it's issues, but not once did I ever consider giving it up. And I thought it was a great phone, and this one just almost makes the 6620 look like a..a Sony Ericcson LOL.
I don't know how many phones I've had over the years, but this is absolutely the best. No comparison.
...
Good to hear, so far so good. Keep us posted
as you can.
Yeah, I loved my 6620. It was sad when it started freezing after near a year. Like a dear friend was letting me down *lol* It would only do it on an incoming call and maybe once every 2-3 days. But still... if it was my girlfriend calling... I don't want to miss those. Welllll, most of the time đ
6682 is a big step up, in my opinon, to the 6620. Which in it's own right, is a great phone. Long live Nokia!
Joe... 47 and long ago realized there is nothing as perfection.
Take it easy, Icy

Just powered it off and back on. Logs were there and contacts were fine. Jury is still out though. One power cycle is not enough to determine anything.
...
No, one power is not. But Woo Hoo anyway! LOL

Side,
What is your favorite theme that you have? Are you more of a theme "with a personal photo" kind of person?
...
No, not realy a theme with a personal photo kind of person. Yet, anyway.
I had quite a lot on my 6620. Haven't yet on my 6682. Haven loaded any than the standard themes that came with the phone. I am using Theme 1. I have noticed... another bug. Everytime I pop the MMC out. It switches the theme to the Nokia standard. Butt ugly. A brownish looking thing.
I kind of go for fantasy themes. Dragons and the such. And I had this one on my 6620, kind of a gray (makes it easy to see the signal and battery bars, a lot of themes they are difficult to see, which bugs me) with a girl, legs, a wrap around her waste, nothing else on, with a spotlight looking thing, kind of looks like she is shining a flashlight. The big sun setting theme...

Sideout: I believe if you move the theme to the phone instead of the mmc, that won't happen.
...
Ah, DUH, makes sense. I suppose themes are small enough to keep on the phone. As a rule, I try to keep everything on the card. Not sure why...
...
Nice catch aprout. I too keep my themes on my MMC. This phone doesn't have the amount of hard drive memory that the 6620 had. I have less than 5mb left as of now âšī¸
...
They returned. Oh well, I can live with it. It's still a dynamite phone.
...
Kinda thought they would...
...
Well something interesting is going on. I can't access MediaNet on my 6682 OR 6620, nor Opera either but can Netfront. So I popped my SIM in my old V400 (wanted to check a non-Symbian phone) and MediaNet loaded right up. Does MediaNet work for you or anyone else??
...
I just checked. I was able to get to my ISP mailbox via MediaNet. Can't seem to load up any web pages though...
...
Ok, do you have a non-Symbian phone handy to try it on there?
...
Or can you get Opera to load a web page? I too can check email and get on using Netfront, but not Opera, or using the built in browser.
...
I also can not get into MediaNet with the default browser. My problem started last night.
...
I just called my Cingular store. My friend said he couldn't either. Not with his 6620 but he could with his ROKR. Anyone think Customer Service will have a clue if we try and explain whats going on?? LOL

No internet here either. Called customer service (Cingular) The nice lady had me remove the battery and SIM card, wait a couple of minutes, then put it all back and power up, then give it a try. Didn't work. When she looked at my account it showed that I had both the unlimited data package and one of the limited packages too. (That's because I have the one month trial of unlimited data for the $4.99 limited price). She said that could cause a conflict and she would remove the limited package. She said it could take up to twenty four hours to get it back up. Some how, since others are having the same problem, I doubt her fix is going to work. If it just comes back by itself, I'll never know. đ
...
Mine is back working now. And so is my Opera. I did call the Data Support Group and put in a ticket. Maybe that helped.
...
royalSep 28, 2005, 12:40 PM
How do you get to the data support group? I don't recall that as one of the options in their phone menu. I'm sure willing to give that a try if the customer support "fix" doesn't work.
...
They transfer you to tech support, and when they realize the caller is smarter than them, they go to DSG.
đ
...
My MediaNet is now back up.
Icyhot, thanks for the follow up with Cingular. The trouble ticket you provoked was important.
...
No problem. I would have rather been napping, but gotta do what ya gotta do lol
...
Now if only I could sweet talk one of ya'll into buying my 6620 or new black RAZR life would be good LOL
...

I'll buy it if you give me $50. đŗ
lol. Already have a 6620 don't need another.
