Got my phone today...
I accidentally ordered an unlocked 6681 instead of the 6682 thinking I was getting a jump on Cingular's PTT service soon to come. Not being very cell knowledgable I soon learned that this phone was designed for out of country use. 900/1800/1900 mhz. I got the same answer from everyone, including Cingular-that the phone will be useless with their service along with its PTT feature. I was advised to refuse the shipment, but I just couldn't resist seeing what all the fuss was about this phone. My past 2 phones were the Moto V180 and the V220, so you can imagine my amazement when I powered that thing up. I decided to pop in my Sim card and see what happens. Would you believe the damn phone works beautifully?!?! I've never had clearer rece...

You might want to do some research to see where the 1900 band is in your area. Obviously it is fine where you are right now, and may work well in the entire area you travel.

How and where would I go to research that? I've been on the phone with Cingular reps, one who'd never even heard of the 6682, and they seem to be as clueless as I am. One actually told me that if the phone was not listed on their web site, then it would not be compatible with their service. 😛 They only have about 1o phones listed on their site! lol

Ok, I'll try. You wouldn't happen to know where I could get a decent hip holster for this thing, huh? Too big maybe? I think I'll shop for one of those cute little cell phone pouches. Wonder if it'll fit that either? 😛
