Nokia 6682 / 6681
WHo has PTT on there 6682
I purchased a Nokia 6682 and was under the assumption that it will have PTT available on the phone. Does anyone have one with PTT on it?

PTT is not available thru Cingular yet. They were planning on launching that service either this month or nov. It's a service you would have to pay for.

Cingular will have PTT available in November but the Nokia 6682 was going to have the software and once the service was available I could have it added and then begin using the feature on the phone. I spoke to Nokia and they stated that Cingular decided against using this model phone as a PTT and that Voice Communications was replaced in PTT spot instead. I ask if there was any software updates that can be downloaded once Cingular put the system in place

Plus there is a very good likely hood that the PTT that Cingular will roll out will be a different system that the 6682 would or could use. If you want PTT, then i'd hold off till Cingular rolls out the service & see what the situation is then. There are many different ways to achieve PTT, & everyone is different. I believe Cingular has chosed technology from Kodiak, & i'm not sure that it would work on the 6682 & that the PTT software offers for the 6681 that is available from the Nokia Europe is most likely not compatable w/ what Cingular will roll out (but i'm speculating on that last statement ...)
