Medianet

I don't have medianet and I remember reading on here that if you didn't have it you could accidentally push a button and it would connect you. Is there anyway to disable that? I don't want to be charged out the butt for accidentally connecting or doing something I wasn't intending to do. I tried to do a search on here but I couldn't find anything, and I tried the user manual but didn't really see anything in there either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is correct, if you do not have a MediaNet plan and access any web/net funtion on the phone you will be charged the per kb rate.

That is currently .01 per kb.

You can also Call Cingular and have them turn off all data services completely just incase you somehow figure out how to accidentally go to the usage areas on your phone.

Also, holding zero from the standy mode will put it on the internet.

The best way to remove that functionality would be to call your provider and have them remove the capability.
