Hi, I plan on getting a Nokia 6682 when cingular re-releases it and I was wondering..How do you know if your computer can sync with bluetooth? I have an hp pavilion, windows XP if that helps. Thanks!

if your computer doesnt have bluetooth built in then u need to buy a bluetooth usb adaptor. its only about $20-$40 depending on the brand.

When I got my 6682 from Cingular (about 6 weeks ago), it came with a USB cable.

I purchased a Bluetooth USB module by IOGear. It is 1.2 spec which works better around WiFi and wireless phones of 2.4gz and was very cheap from Newegg.com. I did have to call their tech support once to get the correct driver installed, but they were very knowledgeable, the call was quick, and it has worked flawlessly since.
Also the IO Gear USB bluetooth module works flawlessly with my 6682 phone. Oh, I think the part number ends in 211 that has the 1.2 spec.

I have the IOGear 301(100m range) and would also say it works great.
Driver issue: install the drivers from cd, attach device, xp will assign xp bluetooth drives over Iogear/widcomm drivers. Go to device manager, right click on BT device, and choose update drivers. In the box that looks for drivers, at the bottom, choose pick from list and then choose the widcomm driver and the device will work great.

I have the MSI Star Key (USB). When I first installed it on my corporate laptop, I used the Widcomm drivers because the laptop had XP SP1. But, whenever I pulled out the Star Key, I would get a blue screen. (Sorry, I can't remember the dll that did it.)
Once I updated to XP SP2, I had the same problem with the Widcomm, so I uninstalled Widcomm and went with the XP SP2 BT drivers. Works fine now and I am able to hot unplug.
I am not recommending that Widcomm not be used! Just relaying my experiences that XP SP2 is working fine for me. ;-)
