Nokia 6682 / 6681
Wayfinder on Cingular.....
I was able to pair my 6682 w/ my Dell GPS and used WayFinder until it expired. Let me say, VERY KEWL! It now asks me to purchase WayFinder for $14.95. I have looked all over Cingular's website and found no mention of WayFinder and looked at WayFinder's own website and all I can find is a one time fee of $99 from them. The questions is, If I pay for wayfinder will I incure a monthly fee from Cingular or will it just be the one time $14.95 charge? Anyone purchased it yet?

There is an annual fee from Wayfinder (http://www.wayfinder.com) for software and service of $99.
This package relies on your phone being connected to an internet conenctions (Under Cingular you'd have to pay for Media-Net (https://www.cingular.com/media/media_net_pur chase).
When you search for the best route between two points in Wayfinder or require a map that is not on your phone, Wayfinder downloads this information from the Wayfinder servers (there is a demo of this as well as estimates on how much data is transferred while performing these tasks on wayfinder's website). This is the 'service' that the $99/yr. is paying for.

yeah i think this is cool but what a rip off.. i rather buy a Garmin gps.

Also ... the app you pay 14.99 for is NOT the same as the demo. It will show you maps ... it will show you an arrow of where you are, but it will not show you where you are on your route as you drive and read instructions to you ,,, for that you need to pay the $99.

I'm watching out for a TomTom software only package for Series60 (to work w/ my Nokia GPS). No annual fees.

Wayfinder has a great turn by turn voice and she sounds alot better looking than John Cleese. Wayfinder works great. Go through Wayfinder and get the new version than what came on the phone. No Cingular charges. You should get the unlimited data package.
