I have heard, through some of my sources at Cingular, this phone is supposed to be re-released, sold again, stock replenished, whatever it is you want to call it.....around the middle of december......through the converstaion, the issues that we've experienced, and doesn't seem to plaque the phones not running "Cingulars software", is being looked into, and corrected, with the new batch coming out with the updates.....supposedly there may be some remedy for those of us who've had the patience to keep the phone.......what form that will take is not clearly defined...... I've talked with all of my contacts, there are NO MORE in the store, and non are expected until mid Dec.

not sure where you are, but I am in Northern California and they still have this phone at Cingular stores. It's $299 with a contract. I want to get one, but I'm either going to buy online from nokia (via letstalk.com) for $249, or wait for it to get back on the letstalk.com actual website (when not connected via nokia) and get it for cheaper. I have also heard availability to be middle December. Nokia is marketing this phone heavily in the US, there is too much at risk for them to not correct the few minor flaws in this phone and get it to market. I spent an hour at the Cingular store playing with all the current phones (SE s710a, Moto mpx220, audiovox 5600) and the 6682 blows them all out of the water. Seriosuly, the Symbiasn is awesome. I can't remember them having any advertisments, prior to its initial release either......hmmmm, curious.....

I have stated what I've heard, that is the latest, and all of those who told me, have the phone, work for Cingular, and are waiting for the problems to be fixed.......

I'm just wondering if "Nokia" or "Cingular" is going to fess up to "WHO" messed up???? I've talked to nokia, they have not had the issues reported with the phone, that "does not" run "Cingulars" software, this is evidenced by people buying it off lets.talk, or nokia.com and the phone being "non-branded" (no Cingular software installed), so you and "I" know who's to blame, just what, when, and how are they going to deal with it remains to be seen.......stay tuned.....

I have seen ads for the 6682 dating back to AUGUST - looks in Cargo, FHM and other tech/gadget magazines. Sometimes there are two pages ads - one showing off the phone the other its ability to take pictures you can print directly from a printer. There are even ads out this month.

there is a full page add in Mens Health December 2005. I cant imagine them letting this phone die. To be honest even if nothing was fixed, I would choose this phone over any other I have had or tried

Well, from the info I've presented before, I don't believe it will die, either.......

But I also remember something I learned many years ago........always expect, the unexpected......

My hopes are, they fix the problems, and they take care of those of us who already purchased the phone, and have issues with it....remember, there is usually a 1 yr. manufactuturers warranty.....

3 Full page ads in Last month's popular science, they're not going to drop this phone, they have too much money invested.

if you purchase this directly from nokia with service, it takes you through letstalk.com, which is interesting, since you cannot buy this phone directly from letstalk.com (althought you can buy the cingular discontinued 6230 and 7610) - right now the deal is for $249.99 with service, but the deal ends today! so, i am going to wait a bit longer and see what new deal they come up with. when this phone first came out it was only $99 with a 2 year contract at letstalk and i am kicking myself daily for not getting it! but i am kinda glad i didn't due to some of the issues reported. that said, like someone else on here posted, i have finally had the chance to physically play with my other phone options/choices - namely the moto mpx220, audivox 556...

Yesterday, Nokia's site listed a december availability, today you can purchase it there.

There have been ads for this phone in wired in the last 3 Wired magazines, including the one I got 2 days ago.
