Nokia 6682 / 6681
Alas, gone for Good. . . at least from Cingular.
So I went to check on the availability of these for ordering this morning. . . and they're gone. I checked the purchase order system, for both retail stores & direct shipping depts. . . Nope, 6682 is gone from Cingular. Alas, only in a retail store or from Nokia now, which, I suppose is a good thing. Still, I was somewhat hoping to score one for myself, not to mention helping out those that really wanted one. Damn .... oh well, there's always the 6282.

This just in from "CINGULAR".......
"It has been confirmed that there is not a firmware update download version that you can receive from any website whether it is Nokia or Cingular. It is a known issue but Cingular will relaunch the device w/ the updated version......."
That comes straight from CINGULARS forum in response to a question concerning the "firmware update", and where it can be downloaded......

But the one thru letstalk.com... is that the old version or the new one? Although, I'm not sure it matters because I have only heard problems with people who purchased the phone through cingulair directly. 🙄

The ones that come from LetsTalk & Nokia are unlocked with no Cingular firmware/software. They're pearl white, not silver, and I'm not sure, but they may be made in a different factories. It's good to hear Cingular has acknowledged the problem (and yes, it is a CINGULAR problem), and may get around to re-releasing an excellent phone.
... But I just checked again, there's still none in any warehouse, and no open purchase orders, so none anytime soon. We'll see. . .
