Why did you need to get one? Their only advantage is it will let you operate on a 3G network (UMTS/HSDPA) if you have a 3G phone and the 6682 is not 3G. Plus the UMTS network Cingular just launched is pretty limited as far as coverage goes, it's basically still in the "test market" phase, and will not see a nationwide deployment for a few more months.

There's no particular advantage to having the 3G cards, but there's not anything that's lost from moving to the new chip. I'd stay with it.

I'd stick with it too. I had to upgrade mine as well, because I just got a notice regarding compatability issues with the 2G 64K SIMS manufactured by Gemplus. I had to ship back all of the 2G gemplus SIMs, so now all we have is the 3G. I haven't noticed anything realy different with the new one, but ther has been a few customers who are having bad network issues with the NEW 3g sims. WTF!!!!

No issues here, but all the initial issues (disappearing call logs, reloading sim contacts, choosing your network) with the Nokia 6682 have gone away...
