After 8 Months, my 9800 is Acting up... :(

Hi Guys, My phone's flawless performance record is broken. It had been working really well since I bought it in September and for the past couple of days it has been:

- Losing calls multiple times after only a few seconds.
- Interrupting me during typing text messages by popping up warning messages.
- Automatically attempting to redial the last number, out of the blue.
- Automatically and out of the blue, bringing up my call list, or my message list or a random warning window.

Has anyone experienced this? What's the fix?

1- New Phone.
2- New software upgrade.
3- Have phone fixed.

Thanks much, 🙂 S

sounds like your phone is pooping out on you...as long as you don't have physical damage or water damage, you should be able to get it replaced at a verizon store. you have a 1 year warranty. since it's 8 months old i suggest you do it before it costs $50 after your phone is over a year old to replace it. might i remind you that it will be replaced by a refurbished phone, but it's better than nothing...

I took it to a VZW store, they are updating the software. The technician thought that the software upgrade would resolve the issues. I checked, mine had version 1. I am now waiting to get it back, it should be ready in an hour. If it misbehaves again, then it would have to be replaced. I hope they put V4 on it. 🙂 S

Got the phone back, they just put the V2 on it. We'll see if it performs better. S

Here's an update:

It turned out the phone was working fine and as solid as usual, my Plantronic headset was acting up and causing all the problems with the phone.
