Pulled your head out of your bong to comment, did you? It's exactly what it is: An entry level CDMA handset for people who want to do one thing well...make calls.

I can't wait to sell it, its more than likely to come to VZW and it will be cheap, lets all the pain in the asses who don't want to spend money get their flip phone. And when someone walks out with a Kyocera i don't really need to worry about problems. The KxV1 has been great. Why start a post so meaningless.

I think that vertical external display is really neat, I've never see anything like that before, although I myself would prefer a typical horizontal display.

i wear my phone on my belt sideways so that the antenna doesn't poke me in the gut when I sit. They should have made the displays like this long ago. Thumbs up Kyocera!

Finally, A Kyocera phone that actually looks like a normal phone. I'm glad thry don't make GSM phones. That Phantom phone has got to be the worst phone ever sold to the mass market.

Totally. I keep my phone in my left pants pocket with the screen facing in towards my leg. The way the screen is situated, it's ideal for sneaking a peak at the time or caller ID. Very neat. I wonder if you can make the info face the other way on the screen? You know...for righties.

Yea, if they had a way to invert the text on the screen that would be pretty sweet.

it would be nice to be able to offer something other than the kx1. I mean the LG 3200 is good too but no outside display which bites. But theres so many people who want something SIMPLE but want a flip, and want the outside display.. and that means so little options

I agree a lot of people just want to make calls from a cell phone. A lot of places of employment wont even allow employees to have a cell phone with camera on it for confidential reasons. I think its nice to see phones like this come out and i have heard nothing but good things come from the Kyocera KX1. It has a nice screen it has a awesome design to it its unique. It may not be a high tech high end phone but some people don't need a $500.00 phone.

Couldn't agree more. I personally dislike high-end 'bells n' whistles' phones... too costly, too complex, and more stuff on them to break/ go wrong. Plus, I simply don't NEED all that extraneous crap... I want to phone and text WELL. Period. I...

I just got the LG VX 4500. Seems a good basic phone (tho only had it for a few days). It is not as intuitive as my old Motorola (T720) and my hand gets tired punching in phone numbers (ergonomics not great), but it receives thruout my apartment which was not true of Moto 720. Will update once I have used it a bit longer. A few conversion pains but I was forced to leave Moto bc of the bad rep of the v265.

Kyocera makes a dependable phone. The only issues I've seen have been a "service required" hardware failure (warranty-able) and a software failure (also warranty-able) Good, solid, inexpensive, hard-working devices. For all you agents/reps, now you don't have to sell the spawn-of-satan audiovox cdm-8600 anymore! You want to talk about crappy phones, look at low-end audiovox. They make kyocera look like the greatest thing ever sold.
