Sony Ericsson Z520 / Z525
Weird thing happened yesterday
But please, don't sit on the phone waiting on a firmware update or something. i feel a poem:
if the phone is weird and tends to glitch
wait not, or you have no reason to B****
just man up and buy a better phone if you're really dissatisfied
I've noticed these problems come up when I play w...

I wonder what could be causing this, and if it's on all models or just a select few. I too, use Bluetooth to sync contacts and calendars with my PowerBook.
Would it be wise to take it back and try a different phone?
I'm on my third phone and just yesterday it did the same thing with the menu glitches and ringer going silent. A friend who got a Z520 two days ago already has had the menu animation black-outs. I mainly use the phone for calls and haven't messed with MP3s or synching.
I called Sony support and the rep I talked to said he hadn't heard of these glitches and all he suggested was to do a master re-set of the phone which didn't make sense to me after having three different phones act up the same.

I've already contacted Cingular and Sony Ericsson, and it bears repeating that if we all speak up as we experience these problems then a fix or replacement could be on the way. Otherwise, as much as I would hate to give up this phone, I would have to go with another model.

FYI, Cincinnati Bell pulled the Z520a from their market because of these types of problems. Cingular and SE seem to still be in denial.
I'm personally on my second one, but I need a phone that doesn't die at random. As much as this phone is perfect from the features and form factor point of view, if it doesn't receive calls reliably, I can't stand for it.
It's a pity. I've owned 6 different SE phones and this is the first one that has really had issues.
