How many songs can you put on this device?
Can you upgrade it's memory? If so, how?
Thanks!
...
I have put at least a couple hundred songs on it. It uses a MINI SD media card. Those are available up to 2 GB. I got the 1 GB one and it works very well.

The question IS........
Can you set them as ringtones, alarm alerts, message alerts....etc....etc....etc..????
Thanks,

You can use MP3's for ringtone by copying your MP3 file into the windows/rings directory. Just to warn you, a regular mp3 file is huge compared to an actual music ring tone. You have to think about this before you start assigning different mp3 songs into your contacts. As far as mp3 for messaging and alarms, I haven't had luck using MP3. I tried putting a mp3 file into the windows directory but the messaging and alarm options doesn't seem to recognize the file.

Thanks.......My friend has the phone, I kind of thought it was something like saving them to a certain file.........but didn't really get a chance to play around with his phone for very long......
I also know about the size, I usually cut about a 20-30 sec. clip and then copy that to the directory where the ringtones are kept. On most phones it's sounds or sound clips........

How do you cut a 20-30 second clip?

IIRC, tones used for alerts and alarms must be a .wav format. No other file type can be used.

Great!!!!!!
If .wav files can be used, they may also be used for ringtones as well I have a hunch, if that's the case, the only drawback I see, is that the .wav files will be larger than an .mp3 due to no compression.........
That, in my book, would make them easier to work with....... and IMHO better sound quality....
I'll give it a try when I get "the phone"......
Thanks,

It's true that they would be larger, but we're talking about alert tones here, not ringtones. Alerts shouldn't be long or they'd get annoying quickly (if not for you, then for everyone around you 🤣
There are a bunch of different file formats that can be used as ringtones but only .wav works for alerts.
