I received my Treo 700W on Wednesday January 18, 2006. Since then, I've had to replaced my phone four (4) times all for the same reasons-after the phone has set for a while the wake up button will not work. 😢

I was having the same problem with the Treo 650. I had Verizon send me 2 new phones as well assuming that the phone was a lemon. I finally called Palm Customer Service directly and they were able to walk me through the problem. Apparently my old Palm information was corrupting the Treo, which in turn was causing the phone not to turn on or find service easily. I completely understand your frustration and was ready to give up on the Treo but that fix worked. Not sure if that would work for the 700 but its worth a shot. I have the same problem. Palm recognized this as a known problem and is working on a patch but does not have an estimated release date. They said I could return the phone or wait for the patch.

I had the same problem and I ended up speaking with a PALM technician. They have a fix for it but its still in testing mode. This is what you have to do:

Goto Start/Active Sync
Goto Menu
Click on "Add Server Source"
enter "fake" on all entries - even for password (should be 4 entries in total)
Click on Finish
Click on Menu
Click on Schedule
and change the settings to Manual on both sections
Click OK
Click on Menu
Click on Options
Delete the server you just created
Click OK
Click OK

That should fix it. If it happens again try a hard reset and repeat the steps above. If your phone still has a problem, contact your provider and advise them you have a defective phone, hopefully they will be able to send you another phon...
