hard & soft reset
I have the 700W
and recently I put in some 3rd party software that kept crashing my "w"
so I first did a soft reset and now a hard reset
but to me, my 700W is now at a snails pace
very slow meaning
if I tap something, it takes forever to change screens or you can see two screens at the same time while doing so
what can I do to totally make it like new

There is no way you are out of warranty on your treo. Take it back and have them give you a warranty replacement.

I talked to tech support, what a ripoff,
you pay full retail for a 700w and then it goes sour and the best they'll do is send you a refurnished one in return

That is standard policy. I know many companies that won't do anything close to that for their customers. Verizon is trying to make it right by giving you a properly functioning device. If the replacement doesn't work, they will give you another one. I don't understand why people like you complain about great service. They could just refer you to Palm who will have you ship your device to them, at your expense, and have you be without it for a long period while it is being repaired. Verizon is saving you all of that hassle and you still complain.
