Motorola i580
what media format does the 580 identify??
to play in the media center for videos..??
i have been on the phone with NEXTEL
customer service and they told me it
supports .mp4 and .mpeg.. so i downloaded
a few videos that were of those formats..
and the phone never found the files on
the memory card..
so i called up motorola techsupport and
the only part of info they could tell
me is the phone only supports video files
from 8 to 30 secs long.. but would that
stop the phone from actually noticing the
file was there..??
see when putting mp3's i noticed there is
a "audio" folder so i just drapped the
files into that folder and renamed them
under 16 charactors and then you need to
make the mp3 a read-only file through ...

mp3s should be able to work as long as they are under 32 chars including the extension and thats it. read only is not necessary. Hint: you can edit ID tags in Windows media player very easily, to help sort playlists on the phone.
