is there a way to keep the external display permanently on/lit?
i want to be able to see if i have 1. missed calls 2. the time/date without having to turn the light on each time...
however, the way it is now is that it turns off automatically after it dims a few seconds...
any suggestions?

Previous LG phones (8100) had an option in the programming menu (from main screen press menu 0 then service code 000000) to turn off "power saving mode". I did this on my 8100 once not really knowing what it was and then noticed that the outside screen never turned all the way off, just went to the half brightness level.

That worked for me.
Menu > 0 >000000 >2-Field Test > scroll down to Power Save Mode and turn it off.
The screen will then stay half-lit when you close the slider. Probably kills the battery though.
Same process to turn Power Saver back ON.
