Front display light goes dim, then off?

Ok, I thought I had it figured out. I didn't. My env's front and main display light goes dim after the set amount of time I set it for (5 seconds) then totally goes black as if on standby after about 5 seconds. Is this supposed to happen and can I set it? Please help me out.

Yes, it's supposed to happen. To change the time limit, go to settings&tools-> displaysettings-> backlight-> display. You can set the backlight time separately for the main and front displays.
