external display staying lit?
When I first started using the phone I was a bit annoyed that every time I wanted to check and see the time or if I had received a text message I would have to first push the OK button and then push it again at the "keyguard" screen. Not much work I know, but I like to be able to peek at it from my pocket discreetly and easily. Anyways, I finally was able to get the external display to stay dimmed but lit so that I could see the screen at all times. Then I turned off my phone today and when I turned it back on the screen would go completely black after 30 secs (the max time under options) just like when I first got it. So my question is, Is there anyway to set it to stay on all the time? Or was this just some glitch that was reset after I sh...

There seems to be a glitch that makes this happen sometimes. I've noticed it mostly happens after using the camera and that turning the phone off and back on will fix this. So, if you want it that way, try using the camera and see if it stays on after that.

I have found a way to keep the external screen on (at least dim) all the time (or until a re-boot) by turning off power-saving mode.
With the phone open, press "OK" followed by "0000000". This brings up the "service menu"
Select "2. Field Tests"
Then select "A. Power Save Mode"
and change to "Off"
This will keep your front screen on all the time with the phone closed, so you can see your clock without pressing any buttons. 😎
