To be honest w/ you, both phones have about the same reception level. They both get good reception. My friends have the 8300 and they've never complained. Hope this helps.

I have the 9900 and my wife has the 8300 and she gets a better signal than mine, same time same location. We went on atrip to the smokys and at some locations mine would not be connected and hers would work(8300)
