Help with front screen

Hi,

I recently purchased the LG enV, and I am unable to find a way to keep the front screen on when I am not actively using the phone. With my old phones I could use my phone as a watch, but now I have to turn it on just to see the time.

Is there a setting I can change to bring back the clock feature?

Thanks!!

I don't think you can have the front screen stay on all the time (other than leaving it plugged into the charger). The front backlight has settings for 5, 15 and 30 seconds "on", but not an option to leave it on all the time. LG most likely did this to reduce unnecessary power use. simply press the "end key" to see the time when the phone is closed.
I'm not sure what you mean by "bring back the clock feature" 👀

Okay, well with a little messing around in the service menu, I have found a way to keep the external screen on (at least dim) all the time (or until a re-boot) by turning off power-saving mode.
With the phone open, press "OK" followed by "0000000". This brings up the "service menu"
Select "2. Field Tests"
Then select "A. Power Save Mode"
and change to "Off"
This will keep your front screen on all the time with the phone closed, so you can see your clock without pressing any buttons. 😁
