Thats a good question but my only comment to turning EVDO off is that even if it does use a little bit more battery, half of the env's applications such as web, VCast Music, etc use the EVDO network to run. I tried runing VCast music and i'm assuming VCast Video w/ EVDO turned off, and of couse it won't work. LIke i said, there are many applications on the phone whichi require the EVDO network to be turned on. It is part of the phone.
