Ok I know this topic has been discussed many times before but i still don't know how to do it. I currently have a 2 gig MicroSD card and have about half of my memory remaining. Will that be enough to told at least 1 movie on my enV? If someone could tell me how to get a movie onto my phone that would be great. Much appreciated! ๐ ๐

Here is a tutorial that I posted on HoFo a while ago: ๐
SUPER is a great program for making 3gp videos.
It's actually pretty simple. Download it here->
Site:
http://www.erightsoft.com/S6Kg1.html »Direct Link:
http://gpl.download.free.fr/A9A272829C61A6A9D86B50FF ... » I am going to assume you have videos on your computer already in .avi, quicktime or .mpg format, and that they play fine in your Windows Media Player/ DivX player or Winamp.
1. Install then Open the SUPER program
2. Find your source video (the one you want to convert) on your computer and Drag-and-Drop the video file into the middle of the SUPER "program window" where the text says "DROP A VALID MULTIMEDIA FILE HERE"
3. now here are the settings you should...

Oh MY god thank you very much. I'll have to read over these directions a few times and when I get back home, definitely download the program. Is it free? This definitely helps. Thank you! I'll hawve to let yolu know how it all goes once I download it though for me ok. Thanks once again. With half of mmemory card free though, doyou think i'lll still be able to store movies on enV though?

A few questions for you: If i were to download videos from LImewire would that work and does it have ti be in .mov file format or could it be AVI cause most of the video formats are avi. Even wheni downlaoded a quicktime video from limewire, had en encoded and i put it only my flix memory card, i must not have dont something right, cause i didn't even see it show up. Sorry, I'm just a little bit confused and i'd like to get this to work. THanks!

You can use the program "SUPER" to encode movies from just about ANY format (.mov, .avi, .mpg, .flv, etc...) to the format that your phone can see/play (.3gp or .3g2).
Make sure the video you are trying to put on the phone is actually in ".3gp" or ".3g2" format, and also make sure the video "Plays" (and has sound) in Quicktime on your computer. If you have verified that your file is an actual working video file in a format the phone can play, you should have no problems. Also, make sure you are putting the movie in the correct location: Inside the "my_flix" folder on your card. ๐

Thank you for being so cooperative and patient w/ me. I appreciate it! Now, where do you go to find/download these videos from? I tried from LImewire but not sure if that's the best source/location to find these videos. I'd like some street racing videos, and some other types of videos as well. Not sure about whole movies cause I'm not sure if I have enough room on my memory Card for that. Also, when the theme of your phone is in Communicator mode, and you hit the OK button to access the main menu and scroll over to the VZ Navigator icon, does it open up for you? Because mine just opens it up into that 2nd folder and when i try to acess it again, nothing happens. I mean i don't care too much because i can still obviously access it when i go ...

I illegally download all of my movies via Bit Torrent. You can use limewire or mIRC or whatever p2p client you want. If you are just looking for short video clips, you can do a google "video" search for "racing" or "street drag" or "drift" or something and save the video to your computer (right click, save the .mp4 video to your desktop) and convert with SUPER. You can also grab videos from YouTube via this site ->
http://keepvid.com/ »But you tube videos aren't the best resolution, so I typically don't get vid's from there. And if you have at least a 2GB card, don't worry about using too much space for movies. A 30 minute TV show takes about 20-40 megs of memory (sometimes only 5megs at low video bitrate settings) and a 1.5 hour movi...

Hey thanks for helping me. I went to google videos and searched street racing and when it listed some videos, for one video i just right clicked, and clicked saved targtet as. I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do though. This is the confusing part for me. Please forgive me but you don't understand how confusing and frustrating this is. ๐คจ I mean sometimes it almost doesn't seem worth it for me to do but I really want to see if i can get some cool videos onto my ophone that's all. Sorry if i'm being bothersome but this is just so annoying. Thanks for your help again. As for the VZ Navigator, when i open the menu up into those tabs, and i click the OK button, for me, nothing helps but like I said, I can still open it up in the Get i...

Yeah, when the video is playing (at http://video.google.com/videoplay?...etc...) look to the right where it says "download" select "Video iPod/Sony PSP" and save the file as ".mp4" to your desktop. Once you have done this with a few videos, open SUPER and drag them into the program and click the "encode" button. ๐
Well, at least you can use VZNav when you want, it's just too bad that you can't use it from the homescreen. You could always try deleting it (use the "remove" option) and re-installing it, that may fix it.
And don't worry, you aren't being bothersome at all, I'm glad to help. ๐

Ashaneen,
Ok, i went to google.com and searched some street racing videos. When i open the actual video up and it plays, i don't see a download button anywhere. All i see are the link i can highlight to copy and past the video's link somewhere else. To the right of the video, I can see all of the "Related Videos" by either other people or the same user. Youtube looks the same way. That's where I'm getting lost. ๐คจ Not sure if I'm doing that right. I deleted VZ Navigator from my phone but uh oh In order to use it again, I"ve got to download it for $2.99 again. โน๏ธ I'll have to wait for that untill mysemester starts up again and I need it. haha.
...
If all you have is a link next to the video, it is going to be a link to youtube, use that webpage I linked to earlier (keepvid) to save those videos. The other process (download as .mp4) works for videos that are actually at video.google.com. ๐
...
I tried thast keepvid.com website but it made me download some special viewer and i did try that but i couldn't get it to work. I honestly don't understand or know what i'm doing wrong. Sorry again if this is annoying but hit's so frustrating for me when All i want to do is get some nice videos onto my phone. Do you have any other suggestions at all for me? hahah โน๏ธ ๐คจ Thanks for the help. If there's anything you might need me to help you with just ask. hahah
...
I'm not sure what "viewer" keepvid is asking you to download. All you have to do is:
go to the site
http://keepvid.com/ »paste the link of a youTube video into the green area at the top of the page
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzbtoXyECF4 »click "download" and in the second box down (the one that says Download, and has a gray bar across the top) a link will appear that says >>Download Link>Download Link

Ok I mean I know how to do that part. Once i do that and save that file to my desktop, I can't open it up or play it. I mean they say I have to re-name it .flv or something and I even tried doing that but tha's when this FLV viewer came into play and just confused me even more. That's really where I'm confused and I need help. I know how to actually find the YouTube Video and cut and paste the link but once i download it i'm not sure where to go from that. THanks for all your hlep again by the way. ๐ ๐
...
Cool, well, I haven't found that I needed to rename any of the extensions. They appear on my computer already with the ".flv" extension. ๐
All you do from here is Drag and Drop the ".flv" file into SUPER. SUPER can convert from "Flash" to ".3gp" or any other format (.avi, .mpg, .mov, etc...) ๐
You don't need an FLV viewer or any additional software, just YouTube, that Keepvid website, and SUPER. ๐
...
Ok cool I did that and Super converted the video. Once it's in that box, i check it off and play it and it does play does that mean it was done successfully? If so, then how do I get that File onto my memory card under My Flix folder? Thanks! ๐
...
The most efficient method is to use a card-reader and "my computer" in windows to drop the video into your "my_flix" folder on your card (provided your card was correctly formatted by your phone). ๐
It really is just that easy. ๐
...
I have my card reader w/ memory card in my computer now, i opened up the my flix folder but i don't get it out i transfer thatfile from that box in Super to the MY flix folder. Ugg I think I'm almost there.

You are close.
You can't drag-and-drop from SUPER, only into SUPER.
The newly encoded .3gp file is on your C: drive, you have to click on "my computer" and look directly in your C: drive to find it. ๐
...
Wow, I can't believe it, it works!!! Thanks soo much. I'm going to play around with this a little bit now. I can't belive it. You don't understand for at least half a year even with my old V, i tried to get it done but never could. Now I can do it. This is awesome. Thanks.
...
THe one thing i'm confused on is once Super is done encoding the video is just is automatically saved to my C: drive? Cause once it's finished encoding and i go to my C: Drive to see if it's there, it's not.
...
Well, that's for the newer versions of SUPER. I'm not sure how your SUPER is set up and where your completed files go. On older versions encoded videos went into -> C;/ProgramFiles/eRightSoft/SUPER/OutPut
You can also check where your output file is located by opening SUPER and right-clicking the program (not the title bar) and selecting "Output file saving management" and at the bottom of the window that opens (in red) it says:
The following FOLDER contains all your rendered files:
And it will show you where your .3gp files are going. ๐
Another option is to just use the windows "search" utility to find files on your computer with filenames having ".3gp" in them and it will find all .3gp vids on your comp for you. :para...

Ya know what I think it has. Thanks for having a lot of patience with me agian. You've really been nice and definitely helped me out. Usually i'm good w/ cell phone stuff asyou can tell but this has always been the one thing on the enV i just couldn't understand because for me, it's very complex on how the computer and cell phone read files in that format. Once you understand it however, it becomes much easier. Thanks agian. I'm goign to give it a few more tries.

Yeah sorry I didn't say before but i am successfully able to but youtube videos onto my enV now and it doesn't look as though the videos take up too much memory space. Thanks verrry much again. Have you tried to put an entire movie onto your phone though? Can it be done? Thanks for all the help again. ๐

Of course, I have a few full length movies, a few skateboarding and snowboarding videos and dozens of toons (simpsons, fam guy, ATHF, etc...) on there. All in all, over 18 hours of TV-quality movies/videos on my card, in addition to all the .mp3's and pix on the card.
Download this ->

Cool. Thanks Let me see how that looks. Ya know something, i'm just so amazed at how many files even a 2 gig card can actually hold cause even w/ this Family Guy movie on my card, i've still got some more room and i can always remove videos and put other ones on. hahah. THis is awesome.!
