Album Art Not Supported?

sahaskatta

Has anyone been successful in getting album art to display on their enV?

I have added the album art images to the ID3 tags using iTunes and Windows Media Player. Both were successful in embedding the file, but the image phone doesn't support the image.

I used the same method for the moto krzr and had no issues.

Does anyone know if the vx9900 does or doesn't support album art? If it does work, is there something special I need to do to get it to work?

I have had success with .wma files showing album art on my 9900, but not with .mp3's yet.
The ID3 Tag method should work, I'll try it tonight on my laptop and (if sucessful) let you know the exact steps. Good Luck. 😎

I would like to know how to do this too. I have a 2GB card coming soon and would like to have the album art displayed when playing songs. Thanks!

Have WMP10 Update the album info for you including album art in the ID3 tag. Then use the "sync" feature in your phone while it's connected with the Data Cable to get the songs over to your phone. 👀

Ashaneen,
Here's the problem:
I have a few hundred MP3s all with embedded album art. The artwork appears perfectly on my iPods, Zune, in iTunes, and other devices that support it (including KRZR). However when WMP11 converts the file and copies to the VX9900 they are lost.

However I got it to work when I took a MP3 i had, converted it to WMA using VLC. Then re-adding the Album Art just as I had done to the MP3 previously. Then try converting/copying to the phone and it works.

Newbie with question here. I just ripped an album to WMP10 and syncd with my phone but the album art doesn't appear on my phone. Sorry, but I don't understand the discussion about ID3 tags. Can someone please walk me through this issue? Thanks

An ID3 tag is a data container within an MP3 audio file stored in a prescribed format. This data commonly contains the Artist name, Song title, Album Art, Year and Genre of the current audio file.
If you used WMP to rip the album... Were you connected to the internet during this process, and did WMP ask you to Identify the album you were ripping before it continued? If done correctly, the album art should appear in Windows Media Player when you Play the ripped .wmas in WMP.
Simple: if the album art doesn't show up in Windows Media Player, then it's not gonna' magically show up on your phone. 👀

Thanks for that explanation. My problem is that the album art shows up in WMP but did not transfer to the phone with the album. Any suggestions?

I was under the impression that only .wma's would show album art on the LG music player. Are you having problems with your .mp3's or .wma's not showing album art? 🙂

Are you making the edits to the ID3 tags in .mp3's or .wma's?

I have album art on all the .wma's on my 9900, it just took a little bit of patience with WMP 10. It's really very simple, but as far as I know, WMP says it adds the art to the file, but if it's not showing up, you may need to manually "check" and possibly add it yourself.I know this method works, and there may be easier ones, but this one is sure to work.
Now, I know it works with .wma's, so let's try those first. Make sure you are connected to the internet, and you have allowed WMP access through your firewall (if you have one).
Step 1. Open WMP10 (maybe WMP11 works fine as well)
Step 2. In WMP, Right click the .wma file (song) you want to add the album info for, and select "Find Album Info"
Step 3. Remember what the album is called...

Thankyou. I had to add the music to sync list for some reason on the WMP, instead of dragging the file (music) into the sync list. I got it to work. 😉 🙂

Quick question.. I guess viewing the album art only works when the phone is open correct? I used Ashaneen's method and got it to work. Thanks BTW. I was hoping to see the album art on the front of the phone when the song was playing and the phone was closed. If this is the case, will someone please let me know.

Thanks!

It will show when the phone is closed, just give the display 3 to 10 seconds to scroll through the song info, then you will see it show up on the front. 😁

Ashaneen,
Have you been able to get it work with MP3s without having to convert them to WMAs first?
If so please let me know.
Thanks

I've been working on that. It seems that the phone can read the embedded album art from only .wma's. I have a few more things to try (editing tags in MMJB, Winamp, etc...) with .mp3's. But for now. I can't get my mp3's to show album art. 👀
