Just Short of 1 Year into 2 year contract

I am dying to get this phone, but would not pay retail. I wish there was a way to get Verizon to let me do the yearly upgrade earlier. My year is up in 5 weeks. I know, that is too long to wait. However, when it is something I really want, I have been told that I am not a very patient person.

There is a way to get an early upgrade. You may be eligible if you have been paying for a plan greater than $60 a month for longer than 3 months. Call a CS rep and ask them if this applies to your account. 👀

Does anyone have more information about this. I currently am paying for a 700 minute family share plan $60.00, plus $9.99 for an additional line. If this is true, what would I ask Customer Service about?

If your PLAN itself (without taxes) has been $59.99 a month for over 3 months, you are eligible. Here is the Verbatim from VZW themselves.
-Standard
If you are either out of contract or it has been two years since your last handset discount (regardless of your contract standing) and you are on or moving to a plan of $24.99 or higher you are eligible for promotional pricing. The exception is family share secondary lines, which are eligible for the $34.99+ promo pricing every two years.
Two year promo pricing is the cheapest on a $34.99+ plan, one year $34.99+ or two year $24.99-$34.98 is $50 higher, and a one year $24.99-$34.98 is $100 higher.

I am not eligible. I got a new phone 02/23/06. So it has not been a year since my last discount handset. I wish I was. Thanks for the info.
