andypilot's review of the Motorola Defy XT

original version, submitted Feb 1, 2013, 9:30 PM:

lives up to expectations.

I have service with Republic Wireless. This is the only phone available. I was an early adopter, I bought in as soon as I found them, about a year and a half now. This is a reasonable update from the fist phone. I updated to the 32 g card right away. Everything about this phone is up to expectations. No glitches whatsoever. display is excellent. sd card worked fine. I don't use much data, but it's nice to have.

pro. This provider has a twist. The phone goes to voip over wi-fi whenever possible. This is a bonus for me my coverage is bad at my house. The voip is works much better. The other bonus is the price. Unlimited for $19, the bill comes at $20.45 per month.

con. There is no support phone number at Republic. The support is done with emails. This was a little hard to get use to, after using it, It seems ok. The response time was quick, just a few minutes. Their site has a blog for users which I like. The programs do not store on the sd card. I hope they make this update.
