HTC One (M7 / CDMA)
Phone Scoop Review
Mar 12, 2013 by Rich Brome
The One is HTC's new flagship Android phone for 2013. It has a slick unibody metal design and cutting-edge specs and features. Phone Scoop takes the Sprint version for a spin in this full review. read review ›

Still a great phone after 2.5 years!

I've decided to hang onto this phone for a while for a few reasons:
Boomsound
SVDO
4.7" screen
I'm on Sprint in the USA and I've largely decided to keep this phone as it is one of the few that has simultaneous voice and data (SVDO) on the Sprint network.
The Lollipop update extended the flagship life of this phone by leaps and bounds. If you can get your hands on one cheap, you won't be dissapointed.

Innovative, Beautiful, Decent Camera

I've had this phone for over two years now and it still has good performance. HTC is great at getting updates out quickly though it's not being updated anymore beyond security patches.
The camera was really good in low light when I first got it. Mine has been having trouble lately though. Photos are almost useless when in really dark situations. I probably need to take it in for service.
The headphone jack has also worn and is kind of finicky.
Otherwise it's a great phone (enough that Apple took similar design cues the next year). The speakers are plenty loud in most situations and have a good range.

Love my HTC One

Even with the latest HTC Sense I still love this phone just not a fan of this new HTC Sense software. The Beats Audio sound is incredible!! So crisp sounding esp. when listening to music and I love the front facing speakers! The phone comes with Beats Earbuds with replacement ear pieces.
I wish they would have put a kick stand on this one since it has front speakers it just seems like it would have been a good phone to do the kick stand on.
The battery life is pretty decent if you are not connected to WiFi but if you are connected to one then the battery life is great!! My batter drains a little quicker on home if I'm not connected to WiFi because I don't get good signal at home so have to use an Airave.
This might be an Android thing but regardless of rather its Android's thing or exclusive to HTC/HTC One's but I like the options in the pull down menu. You have WiFi, mobile data, auto rotate just to name a few but the one I use almost as much as WiFi is the screen shot. It is now easier than ever to take a screen shot. I had the EVO 3D before this and I use to be able to take a screen shot when I wanted to then it became hard (holding power and camera button at the same time) then it got to where it took a screen shot when I didn't want it to/didn't mean to.
A pro is you can set different ringers for each of a your email accounts where as on the S4 you can't (or if you can my father hasn't figured out how).
Blink Feed is also cool but I don't look at it much even moving to the left of my home screen.
Great phone overall. Besides not being a big fan of the new HTC Sense software I'd say the only con is because of its beautiful design the phone seems a little slippery when holding it and more fragile.

Simply put, the HTC one is one of the best phones I have ever owned. I absolutely love it.
