I've own this phone for a month today. This phone has good quality. The thing that would make this phone perfect if sprint had better coverage. At my house I would have full signal,I would go to my sisters house 4 blocks down and old had one bar.I would go to friends house and had one bar and all the other phones with Cingular and T-mobile had all their bars and I only had one bar.Good phone but sprint could make their signal better.

not bad

I've had the phone for about 2 months, and can say that I enjoy it's functionality, and the added features over my Sanyo 200 (obviously). That said, I do have a few complaints...
--the battery doesn't last that long unless the main screen is dimmed all the time. I do play a few games on a regular basis, so that may add to the battery-draining of the device, but nonetheless, I expected the battery to last longer in those conditions.
--The signal strength is not as strong as my 200.
--the screen seems to smudge and show skin oils more than other phones I have owned.

now the good points:
--fantastic size/look. I consistently get asked if I have a Razr, GRRR. I respond with a simple, no, it's ALOT better. I have the metallic one, so it's got the two-tone thing going for it.
--good web speed/apps. I don't do much with the web, but since I got some for free for a while, I have perused a few pages, and am pleased with the connection speed.
--sturdy. My wife ran over hers with HER CAR, and it still works. It's busted up a little, but still has all the function necessary on a phone! no insurance, it's a crock.

I gave this a 4 b/c the battery life isn't what I expected, but then I was warned by others on this site that the Katana had battery issues, so there wasn't much detracted for that. I would recommend this phone to others, and as one who works in the wireless industry, I know how fickle some can be. If you're a diva or fashionista, this phone isn't for you. If you are an average joe looking for a phone with some cool features and a great look, this is your phone.

Not a bad phone but Sprint coverage blows

I'll give the SCP-6650 Katana II 3.5 bars. Call quality is just OK but this could be the fault of Sprint. I got lots of clicking and high-pitched noises during a call. I left Verizon for Sprint just because I like Sanyo phones. However, Sprint coverage was so bad in some of the places I go (in the city) I couldn't stay with Sprint. I returned 2 of these phones and went back to Verizon and bought 2 LG VX8350 phones which are better than the Katana II anyway.
