What The Salesman Has To Say

Since this is my first review, I'd like everyone to know that I am a seller of Sprint PCS. If you can't figure out where from my user name, you don't need to know where I work. Anyhow, the A460 is a very solid piece of technology in your pocket. I own this phone myself (in addition to about 4 other PCS phones), and this one is with out a doubt the best 2G phone I've seen. One problem that always plagued Samsung phones is their use of "inflated signal strength", making the phone seem it has better signal than what it does. The A460 doesn't seem to have this problem, making it quite truthful in fringe areas. The menu interface is very refreshing in comparison to other models made. Even though 2G technology is out the door for PCS, I think I will still carry this phone happily. With all the fancy 3G features boasted by newer phones (and bigger price tags), the A460 is definitely a great phone for non-Vision users. The most annoying problem I've had with this phone is that in well-lighted areas, the blue backlighting can actually bleach out and make it hard to see the screen. Other than that, how else could this phone get anything but a 4.0 out of 5.0? I'm really looking forward to Samsung's sequel to this phone (not meaning the A500).

Samsung A460

I had this phone now for about a week and its been doing OK. I don't really have any complaints to complain about. I use to have the TP 1100 but that got "lost" so I used the insurance and they sent me this Samsung A460 as the replacement, at first I really wanted the TP 1100 for the replacement because I had no problems what so ever but since I now have this one, its been OK. I have only had one dropped call and the reception isn't all that great but it will do. I live in apartments and in my apartment all this phone will do is roam roam roam, and that kinda sucks! When I am out of the apartment then its pretty good. For the rings, it has basically all songs or melodies and not one is a normal ring. I don't mind since I am 20 but I think if you are part of the "older" crowd then it wouldn't really be for you. But for the most part I like the phone because of the cool rings and cute lil silver body and it has an outside LCD so you can know who's calling and also as the screen saver or the IDOL mode for the display of the screen you can change those to a walking panda bear, dogs sleeping in a house, race cars driving, or the night which I have it on because its a basic night scene with stars twinkling and the moon shining. In my opinion I will recomend this phone to any one who wants to have fun with a cute lil phone and not on the business level of work.

The only reason that I'm not giving this phone a 5 is because I love my a500 better. I specialize in wireless technologies for a major national electronics chain. I see several thousand phones a year and there are very few I favor as highly as the a460. I see fewer customers coming to me with service qustions, breakage and frustration over functions of the phones. I owned one of them and was extremely pleased with the battery life, ease of use, display and voice quality and the overall feel of the phone. Based on pure ergonomics, it is probably my favorite phone of all time. The size, the proportions open and closed, the weight and the location and layout of the buttons are well-thought-out and well built. Hurrah for Samsung and PCS by Sprint
