Hello Samsung! Stop Making this Phone!

So the next version of the popular Samsung Phone arrives! At first glance the N400 seems like the phone to buy, with all the options and price of a great phone, but looks can be decieving and this phone can fool the pants off ya. Working for Sprint, I'm able to compare all the phones and give a good unbiased opinion.
Goody:
1. Speakerphone, awesome! Full duplex, loud and one of the better speakerphones I've seen on a celly in a while.
2. Not much other crap than the rest of the 3G phones.
Oh My!:
1. The web browser = Poo. If you want the full vision experience, stay far away from this phone.
2.Oh my a crappy camera! Hey if you wanna put some pictures on your phone that look like chicken fried crap pay the extra 70 bucks for the camera. (even on the A500 the camera looks like crap)
spare yourself the shame and rip the pics directly from your hard drive using :

3. Signal = Hey I'm roaming all the time! This phone has one of the crappiest signals out there. Okay in the city but once you start getting anywhere close to out of area you will regret it.
Overall - Not bad for the price, Speakerphone is really sweet. My main problem with this phone is the web browser, I've seen numerous customers come in with problems and our demo phones have a hard time connecting too. Good mid range phone, if you don't want to shell out that extra 150 for the A500 this isn't a bad buy.

Not as exciting as expected

I love the phone simply for the speaker-phone, but I'm really disappointed with the quality of the resolution. I expected much more after viewing the various advertisements showing the wonders of the N400. It would be a great phone if the resolution was higher, the wireless web was faster, and if the camera attachment zoomed and had a higher resolution. Wow, if all those things are bad about this phone maybe I don't love it!!
Worst Phone Ever

This phone defines the word horrible. No reception, easily crackable front face, freezes up all the time, constant dropped calls, and horrible sound quality. If you ask me Samsung should've never produced this phone.
great for a penny pincher

The phone is okay but it definitely has it's issues from the battery, to the web, to the signal, to the earpiece, to the screen, but with all that aside having a speaker phone is nice I guess whenever the other person can hear you. Not my first choice, but at $50 it could be yours

I do work for Sprint PCS, so you may consider this review slightly biased, but I will try to be as fair and unbiased as possible. I have been using this paticular model for about 8 months (got is shortly after is was released) and so far think it has a great combination of features. While it doesn't have the TFT screen that the A500 has, it does have a speakerphone, which comes in very handy. The screen is a step above the Sanyo 4900, offering more colors and clarity. I was skeptical of the design at first thinking it may break easily, but trust me I have dropped it many, many times and it has been the most durable phone I have owned to date. Before I started working for Sprint I was a U.S. Cellular customer. I will be honest, I never really had problems with their service other than unclear calls and poor reception, but they just don't offer the technology and reliabilility of phones that Sprint offers. So far I have been extremely happy with Sprint's service both as a customer and employee. Bottom line on the N400: You are definitely getting a great value for the cost of the phone. (A positive step up from the Nokia I had with U.S. Cellular)
howdy

this is my first post, here, so i think that John Boy should now be ushering the cows out (John Boy and Billy....www.bigshow.com)
anywho, i work for Radio Shack, in the Airgate Market and i sell these phones (with any luck) everyday.
while my favorite phone is still the sanyo 5300, our biggest selling phones are the sam n400 and the lg 5350. by far, i prefer the n400, mostly due to the way the screen is situated so that you get the picture caller id. also, its the only flip phone (that I've found ;-) ) that has speaker-phone. i love it.
Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!

Worked on these phones. Every test I performed on them fails. They constantly drop calls. They freeze up constantly. too much money for junk.
The worst thing I ever used!

This phone would crash all the time. The browser would stop working. The phone would lock up in middle of a call. The web browser would lose all the bookmarks. The contacts would go vanishing!
The only things I give this phone is the style. It looks nice and the battery was very good.
Other then that. A PIECE OF CRAP!
ohh but no....

This phone is one of the worst phones that I have come across, this really is a nappy phone. I can not believe this phone is on the market. The chance I tried out this phone, was turely a nightmare. A few sugestions.
1. if you are going to have a phone with a color screen, it would be nice to see it in the sun light.
2. the flip needs to be more stable, and able to withstand the process in which it is being open.
3. the whole point of a flip is to protect the inside of the phone(ie the keypad, and the screen) basic scratch protection for the screen would be a wonderful improvement.
4. if there was a way to make the reciption better, so people could speak inside thier homes.
5. the speaker phone is a good idea, if only it worked.
6.it does seem that the phone is out of peportion from itself.
7. it is a nice idea of sending pictures to the phone and taking them as well, but you would need an atachment to do so.
Camera

Please remember as you read reviews for any of the vision phones, the camera is not a manufacturer product. It is a Sprint PCS product and therefore the manufacturer can't be held responsible for the poor quality of the device. It works on multiple phones, has a horrible resolution and clarity, and basically should not have been made/offered. If you really must have a camera phone, get the SPH-A600 that is listed elsewhere on this site. Do NOT get the Sprint PCS generic camera, it is worthless.
